"It was a disheartening news to hear. In him we all had a calm, selfless gentleman who would welcome you with a warm smile. Joseph’s was a life well lived-Served his God to the end. Though, death has taken him away after a relatively short time with us,we hope and yearn to see him soon. Condolences to the family."

"Hearing the news made me speechless, then I remembered my last meeting with him in my house not knowing it was the last time I was seeing him. He was always full of smiles, humble and very hardworking. Working with him for years was great. Headmaster as I affectionately calls him... Looking forward to seeing him in the New World."

"Death is indeed an enemy. Hearing the loss of my humble nephew Joseph, really broke my heart and crushed me so hard. Words cannot even explain how we all feel about this sad news. Joseph was so down to earth and would always take the initiative to lend a helping hand just by observing his environment. He was so calm yet very energetic at whatever his hands found to do.This is a quality I so much loved about him. I will really miss him dearly, his mum, dad, siblings and cousins will miss him so much. However, we glad to know that Joseph is only having a deep sleep without dreams and he will soon hear his name : Joseph!!! And will awake from that deep sleep. This is an assurance from our Creator who never tell lies. (Numbers 23 :19)"

"Hearing the sad 😥news for the first time was very heart-rending💔. How? How? 😩 Big Joe was a definition of calmness. He was loving, patient and never a trouble seeker. I really do not know you feel as family, Buh i can imagine the pain associated with this loss. Take heart and know that you’re not alone. Our prayers are with you. Remember those good memories you shared with Big Joe and find some comfort in it. May the God of all comfort also strengthen and help you cope with this tragedy."

"Life, like a mist, appears for just a day, Then disappears tomorrow. If a man should die, can he live again? Hear the promise God has made: He will call; The dead will answer. All those asleep who in God’s memory stay, From death he will awaken to live in peace, to be truly free. We thank you, our God, for all you have done. Shoes that can never be filled is what has been left behind. The way I used to stress you just to make you talk, just to make you crack that smile. I will miss. I can't wait to welcome you back. My brother, my friend, my panther in crime who will always expose me😏😏. My final moments with you by your side, your strength through it all I will cherish. A life well lived. Forever In our hearts."

"Sir Joseph my big brother, my teacher, my adviser, my parents dear son,my parents boy, my parents gently man, my parents young teacher. We can never forget his memories. He will always be remembered as a respectful son sleeping in death. Sir Joseph find joy in helping people. He is very kind. He does not talk much. He shows his kindness and love in action. He likes to see people happy. At the preparatory school where he taught, when he sees the pupils thirsty and had no money to buy water ,He would go for bags of sachets water and display them he would call them and say "hi guys " here's water come for it. The children will run with joy as they pick the sachets water. My aunty will draw our mother's attention to look at his philanthropic son and this made us burst into laughter. That's what he used to do. I know my parents are blessed to have a son like sir Joseph. People always praised him to our parents about his good conduct and also about his cool nature. My big brother sir Joseph loves us very much. He placed our interest first before his and was willing to be there for any of us. He is a brother anyone would wish to have as a brother. I remembered when i was in my final year he would call me to come and sit down and he helped me with the subjects i found difficulties in. This is what he always does. I thought he was worrying me about studying. I found way to give him excuses. Because I thought I know it all. How i now missed him. I wish he is here to teach me. I will miss him very Very much. I will miss everything about him. Sir Joseph taught us from the bible. He helped us learn the model prayer which is at Matthew 6:9_13. This helped me to see that humans need God's rulership to restore his original purpose for the earth that he created. Jesus is the king in this kingdom.By his examples and miracles that he performed in the bible gives us HOPE that mankind will be free from the problems of this world. Jesus promised at John 14:1_3 that he will go to his father's house and prepare a place and come back to take his closes friends with him. Luke 22:28_30 explain that, those who will go to heaven will help Jesus to rule and judge the earth. Jesus answer at John 18:36 helped me to see that his kingdom is not this one but the one that will come. ( Matthew 6:10) Ghana government has elected about 250 members in parliament to help rule the country. Revelation 14 : 1_3 gave us the number 144000 who will go to heaven and rule with Christ. These ones were bought from the earth to rule the world with Jesus. The rest of mankind will live on paradise earth. When everything has become new. Life in paradise will be what God purpose for Adam and Eve and their children before they lost it. God has not forgotten the promise he made to restore the paradise lost. Matthew 6: 9_13. I am waiting eagerly to meet my lovely brother in paradise which is to come. Psalm 37 :9__11. I can never forget my big brother sir Joseph as I continue to meditate on the model prayer. The truth in the bible has set me free from doubts."

"This is indeed a bitter pill to swallow. It has taken me sometime to accept to take this piII, and I wish this was just a dream. My nephew Joseph has always been around us - his uncles from infancy, and taking young Joseph to school and other activities are experiences I reminisce. No wonder I never saw him as a nephew, but rather, a younger brother. His humility and hardworking was never missing whenever tasked with an activity or chore, after asking a question or two for clarification, he would just nod his head in affirmation, say "OKAY", and you are sure the task is done. His sudden death has really created an empty vacuum in our hearts, a vacuum which is difficult to fiII. We can onIy be grateful and thankful to Almighty God Jehovah for the 30 years He gave Joseph Opoku Gyau to us. I wiII forever cherish every singe moment spent together, and Iooking up to the ultimate hope when we wiII aII be reunited."

"In August last year that was when I met you. Teachers went for a day trip.I remember very well it has rained that morning. I was shivering and I could feel I was extremely cold. Within a twinkle of an eye you gave out your jacket to me and that gestures have been giving me flashbacks since I heard of your demise. With just a day of knowing you your death has just left me broken.. I wanted to meet you again but not with your lifeless body…May you find rest.."

"It was an unbelievable news. I couldn't speak. I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep for the first three days that my beloved son Joseph died. But God helped me and gave me the strength that I needed. God gave Joseph to me as a gift, and I thank Him so much for choosing me as Joseph's mother. I feel so proud to be his mother. Although am grieving over his loss, am happy to say Joseph put God first in his life. He remembered his Grand Creator in his youthful days before the days of distress came. he feared the true God and kept His commandments because this is the whole obligation of man. For the true God will judge every deed including every hidden thing that is good or bad. As true Christians, our role model is Christ Jesus and everything he taught us in the bible is true. Because Jesus is his father's representative, the Almighty God is not a human to lie to us. (Numbers 23:19) Jesus said in the bible that the hour is coming when all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out. I strongly believe that Joseph my beloved son will hear his voice and come out on the resurrection day. Jesus further assured us that all those who are dead are just having a deep sleep. He woke Lazarus up from that deep sleep and this showed how we will also be risen if we have that strong faith in him. We are not God to judge anyone but we can confidently say Joseph was a good follower of Jesus Christ. he was a natural child till his adult age. He always lived a very simple life and kept a simple eye. The qualities that he displayed showed he was a man of peace. These include self-sacrificing, kind-hearted, humble, accommodating, faithful, respectful, quiet and calm, industrious, forgiving, and above all patient. The legacy that Joseph left behind is more than gold or silver for me and I feel so blessed. He was a man of few words. Anyone who knows Joseph so well will understand my words. As the saying goes, 'a good name is better than riches' and Joseph lived up to that good name and that gives me so much comfort. I will miss him a lot. I will miss the frequent smiles that he used to let you know that everything is fine. His siblings will miss him a lot. They always approached him with anything they needed his help for. It is always "Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph, Sir Joseph" as they affectionately call him. I am extremely blessed to have Joseph as a son. If I don't have hope in the resurrection, I would be a very miserable person. I believe in the resurrection. In Job 14:14, Job asked the question that "If a man should die can he live again?" He answered himself at Job 14:15 that "You will call and I will answer you because you will yearn for the work of your hands". Revelation 21 assures us that the former heavens and the former earth have passed away and the tent of God will be with mankind and God himself will reside with mankind. Because God Himself will reside with us, He will wipe our tears, and death that makes us cry will be no more. Neither mourning nor outcry nor pain is anymore. The former things have passed away. To assure us again, God said to write down these promises because "Look! I am making all things new". Also, he says: "Write, for these words are faithful and true". Peace at last to all of God's children because the ruler of the world which is satan, together with his demons will be cast out. We hope that we will meet Joseph in Paradise where there will be no more shocking news, no more sorrowing, no more sickness, no more dying, no more vanity upon vanity But rather live in a perfect new world."

"Sorrow fills my heart at this sad moment, a sorrow that is deep and personal. H.O. as we affectionately call him has silently closed the door of life and departed from us. Our lives will be empty in the areas that he had brightened for us. Albert Einstein said, “The value of a man should be seen in what he gives and not in what he is able to receive.” In one word, Joseph was a man who gave. He gave much to his work, and his students and colleagues as well. I have known Joseph since 2021 when we were posted to Menji S.H.S. Joseph was a strategic thinker, and a visionary who was brilliant, innovative, and creative. As such, he contributed much to the development of the Visual Arts Department and the examination unit. He generously gave us his knowledge, his expertise, and his skills. Joseph was a dedicated, selfless, and hardworking colleague. H.O.! your sudden demise is a big blow to us and has created a big vacuum in our hearts. H.O! nante yie. Ɔkwanso brɛbrɛ na wo wuo yi afum yɛn mu. "You were one of us dearest Joe. It was a privilege for us to have been a part of Joe's life. You were still and you ever shall be. In School, University of Education, Winneba you were such a joy to be with, your company was electric. You were determined, visionary, collaborative, goal-oriented, sociable, reasonable, considerate and accommodating. You lighted every gathering you were a part of, whether you were part of it from the start or you joined somewhere along the line You were brilliant and hard working Not a hypocrite by any stretch of the imagination - you were always yourself You had your weaknesses but you were such a strong man all the time. You were not a saint but you were never a useless sinner You were caring person who loved life and all that it offered You have left us, and from time to time we too may forget you, amidst the turns and twists, the hustles and bustles of life. When that time comes, please forgive us, even if they are many times, still forgive us. Whenever we gather as a class, to reflect on times: past, present and future, we would remember with mixed feelings what a great fellow you were, Joe. Whether we adjudge your death as fair or unfair, just or unjust - We, Graduating Class of 2017- ART EDUCATION DEPARTMENT, UNIVERSITY OF EDUCATION, WINNEBA are proud of you! You died a responsible man, doing a legitimate job - you made us proud! You died as a friend to us and not a foe - and for this our hearts bleed and leap Joe, Oh Joe, the friend, the pillar and the life of our Group - we find it hard to say good bye. You did your best in life - well done good man! You would have carried on if life had permitted - all the same well done! You can't dream anymore our kinds of dreams - but well done great friend! You now belong to the camp of immortals - good friend, good bye! When time gives way to eternity, we shall all be together - until then we are missing you, friend! Good bye good friend! "Joseph was a very intelligent, humble, hardworking and God fearing young man. He was a friend. The last time I met him was when he was finishing his National Service at NASEC in Accra. I will miss his infectious smiles. My deepest condolences to his siblings, parents and the entire extended family. May Jehovah strengthen them all to stand this turbulent and an unpleasant experience. We shall meet him in paradise after the resurrection. Acts 24:15 I am certain that he will 'come out' to a resurrection of life. John 5:29"
